TOURNEY BREAKDOWN: Hendrix, the No. 1 seed, and Birmingham-Southern, the No. 2 seed, were selected as the host sites for the opening round of the conference tournament as co-Regular Season Champions.

Sewanee, the 7-seed, along with Berry, the 3-seed, and Oglethorpe, the 6-seed, will be in Birmingham this weekend. The Tigers will face the Panthers in the opening round at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon from Striplin Field.

The winners of the two pods will play in a best-of-three series next weekend, May 3-4, at the highest remaining seed.

TWIN KILLINGS LIKE A SCIENCE: The Sewanee baseball team enters the postseason ranked second in the country in double plays turned with 38, one behind the University of Dallas' 39. Chris McNulty has been a part of 26 double plays, while Trey Akins has been mentioned in 22.

DOUBLES FOR DAYS: Sewanee's offense has involved doubles and lots of them. The team has compiled 85 two-baggers this season, seventh-most in the nation. Riley Brandvold leads the team with 12 doubles this season.

HISTORICAL SEASON: The Tigers, with 21 wins on the year, have now the most wins in school history, surpassing the 19 the program accomplished twice.

Despite what happens in the tournament, Sewanee, who enters the postseason 21-17, will finish with a record above .500 for the first time since 1985, when the team finished 18-17.
