Men’s Lacrosse Returns to SAA Play with 20-4 Rout of Oglethorpe

ATLANTA - 10 different Tigers scored and 11 recorded points on the day as the Sewanee men's lacrosse team cruised to a 20-4 victory over Oglethorpe Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee scored the first eight goals of the contest before the home team scored with 9:56 left in the second quarter.

-The Purple and Gold added 10 more goals in the second half, eight coming in the final 15 minutes to cap a perfect spring break of competition, playing in three games.

-This is the 13th game in program history where the Tigers have eclipsed 20 goals or more in a contest.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Thomas Oliver led the Tigers with eight points, scoring five times and adding three assists.

-Drew Mullen scored four points with two goals and assists each. He also collected six ground balls.

-Henry Burns added four goals and three ground balls.

-Nico Ferrari won 16-of-24 face offs and recorded eight ground ball.

-Penn Mayhew (1-0) saved seven shots in 30 minutes between the pipes.

OGLETHORPE KEY STATISTICS
-Tyler Rover scored twice to lead the Petrels.

-Addison Irwin (4-5) saved 21 shots for OU.

UP NEXT
Sewanee's final homestand of the 2019 regular season will take place this weekend. The Tigers will first host Transylvania in the team's final non-conference game of the season Friday.
