JACKSON, Miss. - The Sewanee men's soccer team scored two goals in a span of 14 seconds to defeat the Majors of Millsaps College, 2-1, Friday night from Harper Davis Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-It took some time for Sewanee to get the ball into the back of the net. After taking eight first half shots, while holding Millsaps to three, it was scoreless at the intermission.
-The Tigers got the scoring going in the second half, and when they did score, they scored in bunches. In the 65th minute, Severin Velasco netted his first goal of the season off a Christian Kirk pass.
-Millsaps avoided the shutout with a 73rd minute goal by Gabriel Ryce, and the Majors had the opportunity to tie the match with less than a minute remaining. After a Sewanee foul, Wayne Dowdy's free kick sailed wide right.

-Severin Velasco had four total shots, two on goal, to lead the Tigers, and he scored a goal.
-Thompson Schollaert posted three shots and scored once.
-James Murray (9-3-1) saved three shots in full time.

-Alfie Miller (5-7) saved three shots in full time.
