MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Sewanee softball team suffered two losses on Thursday at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic to Maine-Presque Isle, 6-5 and 13-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME 1
-Sewanee scored five runs in the second inning to break the scoreboard open early. In between base hits by Miranda Townsend and Taylor Wagner, Peri Prestwood launched a two-run triple.
-However, the Owls of Presque Isle rallied to take the contest away from the Tigers. In the fourth, the team scored four runs to make it a 5-4 contest.
-In the seventh, thanks to two Sewanee errors, Maine-Presque Isle won the contest. Roni Shaw recorded the game-winning base hit to end the contest, 6-5.
-However, the Owls essentially put the contest away in the sixth with eight runs in the half inning.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Kendell Goodrum recorded five hits on the day, finishing 2-for-4 in game one and 3-for-4 in game two.
-Peri Prestwood went 3-for-4 in game one with two RBI.
-Taylor Wagner drove in three RBI over the two games.
MAINE-PRESQUE ISLE KEY STATISTICS
-Anaiz Diaz posted four hits over the two games to lead the Owls.
-Marissa Reagle (2-0) earned both the wins, in relief in game one and starting in the circle in game two. At the plate, she recorded three RBI.
Sewanee's final day in South Carolina will happen Friday with contests against Southern Vermont and Kentucky Christian.
