CONWAY, Ark. - The Sewanee softball team were swept in a Southern Athletic Association series on Monday with a 17-2 setback to Hendrix College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee got the scoring started with two runs in the top half of the first inning. Peri Prestwood started the scoring with an RBI single to score Hanna Judycki.

-Later, Charlsey Shirey also recorded a base knock to left field to score Prestwood.

-The Warriors responded in the bottom half of the second inning with a two-run homer.

-Hendrix secured the lead for good in the third with a 4-2 score before the home team scored 13 times in the fourth.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Peri Prestwood and Charlsey Shirey each recorded a hit and an RBI to lead the Tigers.

-Prestwood also swiped two bases in the contest.

HENDRIX KEY STATISTICS
-Grace Bryant, Brooke Lowry and Karli Sewell each recorded three hits for the Warriors.

-Hailey Johnston (4-1) allowed two earned runs on three hits in three innings.

After a month on the road, the Tigers return home for a three-game series with Rhodes, beginning Saturday.
