Softball Series With Birmingham-Southern Canceled, Series Opener Ruled “No Contest”

SEWANEE, Tenn. - Easter may be on Sunday, but that did not force Mother Nature to make temperatures and conditions feel like it is mid-February with rainy conditions. Saturday's softball schedule, which included a resumption of game one of the series plus a second game against Birmingham-Southern, was canceled. The third game was also canceled. With the end of the regular season, the games will not be made up.

BSC led the contest 16-3 in the bottom of the third inning on Friday before the umpires called the contest because of soggy conditions. Since the game was not an official game, the contest has been ruled a "No Contest", and all the statistics will be erased.

Sewanee will turn its attention to the SAA Tournament in Chattanooga on Thursday with a quarterfinal matchup with 2-seed Berry.
