Women’s Lacrosse Falls in Monday Matinee

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's lacrosse team were defeated by the Green Terror of McDaniel 12-7, Monday afternoon inside Puett Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-McDaniel recorded a 7-1 lead with 3:41 left in the opening half.

-The Tigers scored a goal with 1:16 left in the half, and that sparked the offense into the second half. In the first 10 minutes of the period, the Tigers scored three times, two on the man-up, to cut the deficit to 7-5.

-The Green Terror responded with scoring four of the next five goals in the next 10 minutes of the second half to push the game away from the home team.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Catherine Crigler led the Tigers with a hat trick on four shots.

-Logan Bulls forced four turnovers, while Hattie Fogarty won four draws.

-Annie Sherrill scooped up five ground balls.

-Amanda Jenkins (3-2) saved six shots in the first half. Brianna Young stopped nine shots in the second half.

MCDANIEL KEY STATISTICS
-Kealey Allison led the Green Terror with five goals. She also won six draws, collected four ground balls and forced three turnovers.

-Hannah Miller (4-1) saved four shots in between the pipes.

Following a few days off, Sewanee returns to Southern Athletic Association play Saturday against Rhodes.
