CONWAY, Ark. - The Sewanee women's lacrosse team earned a dominating 22-12 win over the Warriors of Hendrix College Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee scored six of the first seven goals of the contest to sprint out to a 6-1 lead with over 20 minutes left in the period.
-Hendrix made it a two-goal contest with over 15 minutes left in the opening half, but the Tigers responded with four straight goals to lead 10-4 with 10 minutes left in the opening half.
-Sewanee kept the foot on the gas pedal as they led the contest 12-6 at the break.
-Hendrix came out scoring in the second half with two goals in the first minute-plus to make it a 13-8 affair, but the Tigers scored nine of the next 11 goals to seal the contest.
-The Tigers' 22 goals in the contest ties the fourth-most in program history, with the last coming on Mar. 9, 2015 vs. The College of Wooster (22-16).
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Sarah Strand led the Tigers with a career-best seven goals on 11 shots. Finishing the game with eight points thanks to an assist, the sophomore also added eight draw controls.
-Hattie Fogarty forced six turnovers and won seven draw controls.
-Brianna Young (5-4) started the game and saved five shots in 30 minutes.
HENDRIX KEY STATISTICS
-Morgan Dasch finished with six points on four goals and two assists while winning six draws and forcing five turnovers.
-Alexis Truitt (2-3) saved 11 shots in full time between the pipes.
The regular season will conclude next Saturday for Sewanee, as a first round bye in the SAA Tournament will be on the line as Centre comes to the Domain. The winner of this contest will earn an opening round bye and the right to host a semifinal game in the conference tournament, scheduled to begin April 19.
